The following pictures are very special to me as this little one is my niece. Her name is Mia Amore. She is now 7 weeks old.
We knew there had been complications with the pregnancy but were not expecting the many problems that she was born with. She came out seizing and has since been on medication to control them. She also has not been able to breath on her own. It actually has been several weeks since these pictures were taken. Mia just recently had a trach put in and will hopefully be transferring to a new facility that will work on weaning her off the ventilator. It is not hard to understand the relationships as you look through the pictures but I will give you a little help. This is my brother Robert and his wife Rachael. My parents were there and there are a few pictures of a proud big sister. Mia is a very special addition to our growing family and we are so thankful that she is improving a little every week.
If you find yourself in this situation one day and the outcome is not happy as ours hopefully will be, there is a special organization called Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. It is a network of photographers all over the country who will come in and make portraits for a family who has to let a little one go. Check it out, it is a really neat program for families who would like lasting treasures of their babies.
