California Here We Come!! | Chico / Redding Portrait Photographer

If you follow my blog you may have noticed that I have started to tag posts Chico / Redding even though I currently live in Reno, NV. That’s because on Friday we will be driving two large moving trucks to our new home in Redding, California!

We have lived in Reno for 5 years and I have built a very fun wedding/portrait business that has kept me very busy. Although we love it here our hometown is Chico and we have always wanted to move home. My husband works in the medical field as a Perfusionist.  He runs the heart/lung machine in open heart surgery. It is a very specialized field and there are only a couple of positions for it in each heart program. We have been unable to move back to Chico, where all our family is, for the last 9 years so we have been living in Reno where it was the closest job we could get to home. Last fall we stumbled across a posting for a job in Redding, CA which is only an hour from our home so we applied and we got the job! We are excited to be moving near family and home to warm weather and warm lakes. We are avid wakeboarders so we are excited to be so close to Shasta Lake and Whiskytown Lake.

We have had a hard time saying good-bye to all our friends here in Reno, many whom have become family to us here. We feel that the Lord is leading us in this new direction but we really didn’t realize how much we loved Reno until is was time to say good-bye. Our 5 years in Reno have some really sweet memories and we look forward to making more with our dear Reno friends.

If you have stumbled across this blog and are from Redding or Chico I am excitied to be back “home” and building up my business with Chico/Redding customers (and anyone in between!). I am looking forward to the year round shooting weather and the beautiful California locations. Even though I will be located in Redding I will be working on building my business in Chico as well as I have lots of family there for babysitting and I know the town so well. It has been a pleasure to work with you all and I hope that I have as many great customers in Redding as I have had here. So we are off to our new adventure and I look forward to seeing what the Lord has in store for my photography business in Chico and Redding.
