The “O” Family | Redding Family Photographer

The “O” Family holds some of my favorite people. Our friendship grew really strong over our 5 years that we lived in Reno and our families are bonded for life. We have been together through pregnancy’s, babies, homeschooling, packing and moving, fieldtrips, vacations, and holiday meals. We shared many meals and Sunday nights hanging out as families. Our kids adore each other and we have adopted them as cousins and Aunt and Uncle. I am so thankful for them and how they have supported us through this transition year of moving into a new community. We are 3 1/2 hours away from them but we try and make the distance seem much less through skype and regular visits. The kids are always asking when they get to play with Sarah and Alivia and I often feel a need my Christy time to get me through the next couple of months. I didn’t realize how many of my thoughts I shared with Christy until she wasn’t around all the time to share them with!

I have taken their family pictures each year for the last 4 years or so and it is fun to see my own personal growth as a photographer as I look back at their sessions. I didn’t think we could top last years session but I love these pictures too! We had gone over for a visit and to let our kids play and the weekend just filled up so quickly! We decided to do a morning session right before we left town in Grandma’s backyard which is true Nevada landscape! I am really pleased with the precious pictures I was able to capture for them and I love seeing the girls personalities shine through their portraits. And, no, those eyes aren’t touched up. They are truly that vibrant!

The Hayes Family | Redding Portrait Photographer

We recently joined The Stirring, a church here in Redding that we are feeling really excited about being apart of. God has just blessed this part of our transition into a new town by immediately placing us in a church that we feel encouraged, challenged, and renewed every week. We have also feel very excited to have Rosie apart of the youth group. Every time we have attended a youth function we are impressed by the leaders and their desire to know God in a very real and personal way. That is what they emphasis with the youth kids which just falls right into line with what we want to pass on to our children. We really feel like we have found a church to call home and feel so blessed that it was a short and easy search!

The Hayes Family runs the Student Ministries at the church and we have already felt so blessed by them and their calling to the youth. I was excited to do a session with them and their adorable kids. They have made a special place in their family for Jared and they wanted pictures to capture their family the way God has put it together at this time in their lives.

Their little boys are very energetic and crazy little boys and were so patient with me. Sometimes I think I wear the kids out before they have a chance to wear me out. They did an awesome job posing and being silly for me and the baby was picture perfect and always smiling!

We took these pictures at the Sundial Bridge here in Redding just as the sun was going down. It was still pretty warm but the light was absolutely beautiful!

Thank you, Sarah and Aaron, for letting me capture your beautiful family!

The J Family | Redding Family Photographer

Last year I donated a family session for a fundraiser for a little girl named Scarlett. If you didn’t get a chance to read her story you can do it here. The J Family won the portrait session and we have been trying to make it happen for the last year since I now live in Redding and they live in Reno. We finally made it happen on our last trip over to Reno.

Caughlin Ranch was the location for our session and one of my favorite places in Reno for portrait sessions. We did an early morning session and it was a little nippy! They have 3 beautiful girls who are adorable. The little one decided it wasn’t her day for taking pictures but I am use to that with one of my own that is that age. When they make up their mind that they don’t want to do something they just don’t want to do it! I have a bag of tricks that I use with the little ones but sometimes they just are wise to my antics! That’s ok though because the little ones are still my favorite to photograph!
